The Region

The Adirondack Park is a six-million-acre protected region in upstate New York — larger than Yellowstone, Everglades, Glacier, and Grand Canyon National Parks combined. A unique mix of public wilderness and private communities, it features over 3,000 lakes, 46 High Peaks, and some of the most stunning natural scenery in the Northeast, drawing outdoor enthusiasts year-round.

THE Adirondack Park

"Within the Blue Line — halfway between Saratoga and Lake Placid — a landscape protected in perpetuity, where the land will pass forward, unchanged, to the generation that follows."

Life within the Blue Line

Spanning six million acres of mountain, forest, lake, and river, Adirondack Park is unlike any other preserve in America. Established in 1892 and safeguarded by the Forever Wild clause of the New York State Constitution, the Park encompasses more protected land than Yellowstone, Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Glacier, and Olympic combined.

Protected in perpetuity by constitutional mandate, the surrounding forest will never be developed, its views never diminished, its waters never compromised. It is the rarest of modern assurances: that the land you inherit will pass forward, unchanged, to the generation that follows.

Unique among the nation’s great preserves, the Park is not a closed wilderness but a living mosaic — a rare interweaving of public Forest Preserve and private holdings, of ancient woodland and historic hamlet, where small towns, working farms, and grand family compounds rest amid an unbroken expanse of 46 High Peaks, more than 3,000 lakes and ponds, and thousands of miles of rivers and streams.

Brant Lake — a Storied History

Set in Horicon, Warren County, Brant Lake has long been counted among the most refined and enduring summer communities of the Adirondacks. A 5-mile glacial lake, framed by dramatic mountain ridges, it emerged in the late nineteenth century as a retreat for the Gilded Age elite seeking the grandeur of the mountains.

Today, the hamlet retains the character that drew families here more than a century ago — the beauty of the Adirondacks, with an inviting lake, legacy summer camps passed between generations, and a shoreline still defined by the great estates and cottages of Brant Lake’s Gilded Age awakening.

The water runs crystal clear, the winters drape the landscape in a beautiful, peaceful calm. Step back in time to a place where privacy and history have been quietly preserved.

A Crossroads in the Mountains

Though Brant Lake feels a world away from the demands of the modern city, its location places it at one of the most enviable crossroads in the Northeast. The estate sits at the very center of the Adirondack corridor, halfway between two of the region’s cultural capitals.

Saratoga Springs — forty-five minutes south, Saratoga is home to the nation’s oldest thoroughbred racecourse, the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, the Saratoga Polo Association grounds, and the historic mineral springs that have drawn discerning visitors for two centuries.

Lake Placid — ninety minutes north, Lake Placid was twice host of the Winter Olympic Games and home to the legendary Lake Placid Horse Shows, where Olympic riders and top competitors gather each summer beneath the High Peaks.

Beyond the Park, the property is within easy reach of the great cities of the Northeast: Montreal three hours north, New York City four hours south, and Boston four hours east. Albany International Airport lies just over an hour south and private aviation is served by Floyd Bennett Memorial Airport in Glens Falls, 35 miles away.
